In December 1972 an organizational meeting was held at the Arlington Village Hall to discuss forming a club for the Arlington area snowmobilers. Several names were suggested for the snowmobile club.

Options of names included:

    • Prairie Angels
    • Prairie Jets
    • Prairie Schooners
    • Prairie Bunch
    • Prairie Drifters
    • Snow Kings
    • Open Riders
    • Snow Lords
    • Snow Sports

The members voted for Prairie Drifters and the club was registered as the Arlington Prairie Drifters effective January 1973.

Today the club is comprised of over 100 families. We have built and currently maintain over 60 miles of scenic trails throughout Arlington and Poynette, Wisconsin. Our trails connect with the following areas: DeForest, Waunakee, Lodi, Columbus and Portage.

Collaborating closely with area landowners and businesses to provide great snowmobiling to sledders passing along our beautiful trails. We work diligently to provide well-groomed trails for the enjoyment of all.
